Halloween Costume Contest
Halloween Costume Contest 2011

We went to this party as the Wolf Pack from the Twilight saga. The best part was that we got an unexpected snow storm up here in the North East, so it was very much like the blizzard scene from Eclipse. When we walked into the house from outside with no shirts on, and with the snow falling hard, it was a big hit! Also if you look closely in the background you can make out Edward! He came up in most of the pictures that we took that night even though we never planned it. It was a perfect setting!

I had a steering wheel with the air bag, and a rear view mirror with dice on them. My mask had a windsheild wiper through my cheek.

This year I decided to give myself an ultimate challenge.. to become an Avatar! The entire costume was put together by myself. I made all the jewelry as well as the skirt, shirt, and tail, as well as all the face and body paint. This costume has inspired friends to watch the movie if they haven't already, (which is a MUST SEE)!!

Each year we try to think of something a bit unique about whatever it is we want to be. So this year when the girls asked about being nerds, I asked, "The candy kind or the Urkle kind?" and they figured why not do both!
So we used foam core poster board to create the "box". We didn't want to be too enclosed, because we wanted the nerdiness to show through! It even has a UPC on the back.
Then we gathered up Grape andStrawberry colored items to create our nerd look. Plaid skirts, held up with suspenders (actually hiked up kinda goofy in the back), bow ties, and nerd glasses with coordinating tape. And wigs, to top off the color scheme. Our Ompa Loompa has a fun foam sheet costume, we just cut out the shapes we needed.
Of course they plan on passing out Nerds!
